When we left off last week, Robb Stark was being tempted by a beautiful woman. So was his brother Jon Stark. Arya continued her duties to Tywin Lannister while taking out her enemies. Cerei and Tyrion Lannister had a heart-to-heart about sins coming back to roost. Their brother Jaime attempted to escape his shackles, only to end up being threatened with a sword.
“Has anyone ever told you you’re as boring as you are ugly?”
Of course when Robb discovers his mother’s betrayal he is none too pleased, but Catelyn did have the best intentions. She had hoped that by returning Jaime she would be able to ensure the release of her daughters. She’s already lost her husband, and thinks she has lost her two youngest sons. Sansa, Arya, and Robb are all she believes she has left. Having no children of his own, Robb can’t understand his mother’s intentions. All he knows is that if he lets her get away with going behind his back he’ll lose the respect of his men. Now that Jaime and Brienne are on the road during war-time, my guess is Catelyn may have taken a gamble she just may lose. (More…)
