ICYMI: “Sci-Fi Collage” – Falling Skies Season 2 Recap

Last night TNT’s Falling Skies returned for its second season with a two-part premiere. The first episode, “Worlds Apart”, kicked things off with Tom’s return. When we last saw Tom, he had gone off with the aliens aboard their ship. Now he has mysteriously returned. The second episode, “Shall We Meet at the River,” deals with the Alien/Human standoff that results from Tom’s return.

When Tom returns to the survivors things have changed. Hal has taken on a more leadership role within the camp, while Ben has stepped up with more responsibility. For the most part, everyone is accepting of Tom’s return to the fold, but they have questions as to why he’s been released. We later find out what the aliens wanted with Tom via flashbacks.

The person who is the most distrusting of his return is Tom himself. It turns out that he was right. Inside his body was planted some worm thing that turned into a ball bearing once removed. Tom already had doubts that he was released out of the goodness of the aliens’ hearts, and this discovery solidifies his fears. But Tom isn’t the only one coming to terms with being abducted.
