The season 3 finale of Pretty Little Liars delivered a few thrills and chills, but overall didn’t make a whole lot of sense. Gratefully we got confirmation that Toby Cavanaugh was indeed alive and well, and working as a double-agent to help Spencer find out Red Coat’s identity. Aria finally came to a decision about her and Fitz, though maybe not the ones Ezria fans hoped for. While we still do not know what happened to Jason Di Laurentis, other missing characters resurfaced. First, Toby’s sister Jenna put in an appearance, and we learned she and Shauna are hooking up. Second, Det. Wilden’s car was dragged up from the swamps. As the show moves into its 4th season this June, the “A-Team” looks to be no more, and all the alliances have shifted.

IAN HARDINGWhile we didn’t learn too much on the Emily and Hannah fronts, the episode totally belonged to Spencer and Aria. Ever since Aria learned Ezra had a son, their relationship looked doomed. After weeks of agonizing over letting go, Aria finally did just that. She got tired of being the reason Ezra is unemployed, and didn’t want to be the reason he couldn’t provide for his son Malcolm. Watching Aria and Ezra’s angst made for great television, but the stupidity of some of their actions made me cringe. After Ezra gets his job back, one of the first things he does is to beg Aria not to leave him in the school’s stairwell. Granted the majority of the school was at a swim meet (I guess), but I didn’t realize swimming was such a big sport to empty out the entire school. Then after Aria officially dumped him, Ezra grabs her and pulls her into a major kiss. RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE WINDOW. RIGHT ON THE STAIRS. Maybe if the two disappeared into a closet it wouldn’t have been so bad, but come on folks. Really? (More…)
