The Week in Review: “Cleaning Out My Kindle” (July 26th – August 1st)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. This meme gives bloggers a chance to share with readers what we bought, borrowed, swapped, won or received for review each week. I also decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Life Outside The ‘Net

  • Received my first Fandom of the Month Club subscription box. Love The Hunger Games! If you’re interested in receiving one yourself, their back to accepting subscriptions.
  • Attended a free Vanessa Williams Concert in Marina Del Rey. Really great time with the family.

Overall, my week was pretty slow. I read a lot, and scheduled a lot of posts for this month. I think things are going to be pretty exciting around here. *fingers crossed* Anywho, I still have two more weeks of vacation, and I’m going to enjoy as much of it as possible. Some changes at work, and I plan to attend a meeting to discover just exactly what that means. Despite saying I wouldn’t ask for more ARCs, I have. Ugh! LOL, can’t help myself sometimes. Luckily, I’m reading right through them. Next up, I plan to get back to The Luxe and The Raven Cycle so I can start making my way through the books I’ve purchased that have been lingering on my iPad for ages. Some even for years ;( Until next time… happy reading & have a wonderful week!

You should! They send you nice jewelry for what you pay. I also like that it’s a surprise, and you don’t know what the fandom is until your box arrives in the mail.

  1. I can’t wait to read what you thought about the Luxe series!!! I have the first few but I can’t seem to start them (UGH)!! I absolutely love Armentrout!!!!!! And I’m behind Dark Elements, too *hangs head in shame* See? This is the road you’re on when you take review books (hahahahahaha!!!) Just kidding 🙂

Have another great week of vacation!!

I totally know what you mean. I read The Luxe last month, and was so busy reading ARCs that I haven’t started Rumors. I plan to start today, though. So far I like the books. They remind me a bit of The Age of Innocence and Pride and Prejudice in the writing style. I will admit, though, it took me a while to get into the first book, but once I did I was hooked. I’m such a JLA fan it’s crazy! I enjoyed The Dark Elements, but I think it’s my least favorite of her series.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week!

  2. I always think I already have more than enough ARC’s and review copies and then get more every week. You got a great haul this week, I hope you’ll enjoy all of them. I like the idea of those monthly subscriptions boxes, but never tried one myself. I hope you’ll have a great week!

Thanks! My first box was nice, and I’m curious to see what I’ll get next month. I don’t know how long I plan on subscribing, but at least for a few months. I’m just starting to get a lot of ARCs, so this past month was my first experience juggling everything to get things done. So far I’ve been successful, so now I probably should relax about the whole thing. I just need to make sure I don’t over extend myself when I head back to work in a couple weeks. Have a great week also!

Oh, yeah, definitely check them out. Really nice stuff. I can’t wait to see what arrives this week. The Fandom of the Month Club is currently accepting subscribers, so now’s the time. You can get a monthly subscription, 3 months, or 6 months, and can cancel at any time. They do repeat fandoms, but the jewelry you get won’t be the same I hear.
