Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Fairytale Retellings I’ve Read or Would Like To Read

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is to list the “Ten Fairytale Retellings I’ve Read or Want To Read.” I haven’t read a bunch of fairy tale retellings, but I have read a few, and have more on my TBR list. So this week I decided to do something new and divide up the list to incorporate the books I’ve read, and the ones I plan to read. Some of the retellings are repetitive in that they retell a fairy tale I’ve already read. Others are series that I’ve lumped together. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. So without further ado, here is my “Top Ten Fairytale Retellings I’ve Read or Would Like to Read.”

Books I’ve Read

  1. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer (Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel)
  2. Spelled by Betsy Schow (Wizard of Oz)
  3. The Splintered Series by A. G. Howard (Alice in Wonderland
  4. Wicked by Gregory Maguire (Wizard of Oz)

Books I Want to Read

  1. Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige (Wizard of Oz)
  2. The White Rabbit Chronicles by Gena Showalter (Alice in Wonderland)
  3. Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge (Red Riding Hood)
  4. Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge (Beauty & The Beast)
  5. An Unfortunate Fairy Tale Series by Chanda Hahn (Various Fairy Tales)
  6. Anansi Boys (American Gods #2) by Neil Gaiman

  1. I really want to read Cruel Beauty and Crimson Bound as well.
Wicked sounds interesting as well, but i did not really enjoy the stories of Oz. I just did not enjoy the characters.
But maybe i will enjoy that version of it?
I never heard of An Unfortunate Fairy Tale Series before so i will look into that one because the cover looks beautiful and that always is a good sign to me 😉
    Fantastic list 🙂

Thanks! I’ve hear mixed reviews about Cruel Beauty & Crimson Bound. So I guess we’ll both see for ourselves once we get a chance to read them. You really don’t like Oz? I’ve never read the original books, but The Wizard of Oz was always one of my favorite films. I bought the first two books of An Unfortunate Fairy Tales a year ago, and never got around to reading them. Hopefully soon. Thanks for stopping by 😉
