A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...
She's the one girl he should never touch...
Cooper Grayson is supposed to hole up in a mountain cabin and protect his best friend's little sister from the paparazzi for a week. That's it. But Paris O'Connell isn't a kid anymore, and it's hard to remember this is strictly business when she bats her big green eyes at him...then crashes through all his carefully placed boundaries.
Paris loves a challenge. And gorgeous Cooper Grayson is the most dangerous challenge she's faced yet. He ignores the sizzling attraction that keeps her awake at nights, and he doesn't care about her fame or her contacts, only seeing her. When they finally kiss, Cooper leaves her bare. Exposed. His for the taking. And take he does...
For one incredibly hot week, Cooper fulfils her every fantasy. But when the real world crashes in, so does reality. And reality tells them there's no way a Hollywood star and a bad boy from the wrong side of town could ever have a future together...
The Good…:
Christina Phillip’s Hold Me Until Morning is the second book in her Grayson Brothers series. This novel centers around Cooper Grayson, who’s asked to look after his best friend’s little sister, Paris O’Connell. Paris is a popular soap opera actress who is being hounded by the paparazzi, and wants to get away from Hollywood for a while so she can decompress and figure out what to do with her career. Cooper knows Paris is strictly “hands off,” but she sure has changed from the little girl he used to know ten years ago.
I enjoyed this book, because I loved how Cooper and Paris knew each other as kids. In romance books the couple always gets together quickly, and I like when there’s a prior relationship, because then them falling in love seems more realistic to me. Add on to their possible relationship the fact she’s Cooper’s best friend’s little sister, and a Hollywood actress with an overbearing momager, and you have a recipe for one complicated relationship.
Paris and Cooper are both complicated characters, and their multi-dimensional development made me want to know more about them. Sadly, this is a Grayson Brothers series, so the next book will end up focusing on one of Cooper’s brothers. This isn’t a bad thing, but it means any new developments readers learn about Cooper and Paris will be told from someone else’s point of view. I’m hoping book #3 centers around Cooper’s brother Alex.
Do I Recommend?
I think this is a great book for anyone looking for a good romance with well-developed characters. I never read the first book in the series, Hold Me Until Midnight, but reading this book has made me want to go back and read it to get more of the backstory I might have missed. I really enjoyed the Hollywood actress meats bodyguard scenario, and loved the camaraderie between the brothers. The only thing I wished was that the resolution was more fleshed out. Like many of the romances I’ve read this summer, the ending seemed to get wrapped up a little too quickly for my tastes. Especially considering this book is a part of a series.
