The Week in Review: “Ching-a-ling!” (August 30th – September 12th)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. This meme gives bloggers a chance to share with readers what we bought, borrowed, swapped, won or received for review each week. I also decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Life Outside the ‘Net

The past two weeks have been hard. The heatwave on the West Coast has left me severly dehydrated. I’ve tried to continue my training schedule, but muscle cramps have dogged me the entire way. Now that it’s a tad cooler, I’m hoping to get my electrolytes leveled so I can be better prepared for next Saturday’s 9 mile run. While I did successfully complete yesterday’s 7 miler, I did run into a bit of trouble. Here’s to a better week!

Labor Day

I didn’t post my Week In Review last weekend due to being out-of-town for the holiday. Every year, my family and I go camping during Labor Day weekend. So much is happening in our lives, that it’s not like it used to be, but I still enjoyed myself. I went to the casino, and didn’t win, but I did at least break even. Hopefully I’ll have better luck next time.

I’m not taking my Japanese class as seriously as I should. I do my homework, but a language needs to be studied. This week I plan to do just that so I can get a good grade.

Ugh! I’m having a hard time this year. I’m working with a tough bunch, and it’s been very draining. Plus, with all the working out, the lingering cough I’ve been fighting for the past several weeks (not to mention dehydration), work has been hard. I think it will get better once I get used to being back to work, and can get healthy again.

Overall, I’m hopeful that this week will be better. I need to get even more organized than I’ve been so that nothing falls through the cracks. Since I’ve been falling asleep early, I haven’t been visiting blogs as much as I’d like, and want to get back to doing that. I also want to write more articles, instead of just memes. I have lots of topics, but can’t ever seem to find the time. Still working on pulling back from the blog tours and book blitz for the remainder of the year. This way I can focus more on the books I want to read on my iPad. I’m almost done with my ARCs for September, but now I need to get through October. Now that I’m back to work, I need to pull back a bit to posting less than I’ve been so I don’t feel so overwhelmed with life in general. Any thoughts?

All of this heat doesn’t help! It’s so draining! I can’t wait for fall temperatures to hit SoCal. We can use it.

I’m in the West Coast too and the heat was horrible. But the weather is supposed to cool down again. My job has been stressful too. Hopefully this week will be better for us. Have a great week!

Wasn’t it crazy? I’m glad to hear things are about to cool down a bit. We definitely need it! Sorry to hear you’ve been stressed out as well. Things just have to get better for us. *fingers crossed* I hope you also have a great week! Thanks for stopping by 🙂

OMG, thank you! I love your blog as well. As a curvy women myself, I totally appreciate your concept 🙂 Nice to meet you too, and have a great week!

  2. That’s nice you went out camping for labor day weekend. I hope things improve on your work soon! I entered a few of the giveaways you had going on, thanks for listing them so neatly in your sidebar! I like doing tours, but it also can get a bit overwhelming at times. I hope you’ll have a great week!

I think they will once I’m feeling better. I tend to get really moody when I’m ill. Glad you were able to enter some of the giveaways. Good luck! You have never lied! Blog Tours can be a bit overwhelming as I’m learning. I think that’s why I’m pulling back on them after October. That way I’ll have at least two months to read through as much as my TBR pile as I can get through before all the new 2016 releases come out. LOL! Thanks for stopping by, and have a good week yourself!
