I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

life outside the ‘net
Last week I was off work for Thanksgiving break. Every year I ride up north with my aunt and uncle to visit family in the Bay Area. This year things were a bit different, as people’s lives have changed. The kids are older now, and have lives of their own, so they weren’t around as much as they used to be. The same can be said for the more elderly people in the family. They aren’t as spry as they once were, and weren’t able to handle all of the activities. Despite everything, we still had a wonderful time.
Monday we went shopping. Not for Christmas gifts, but for little odds and ends before Thanksgiving. We also stopped by Levi Stadium so one of my uncles could get a chance to see it. The stadium store is always fun. On Tuesday we drove to San Francisco to visit an elderly aunt. After we returned to Santa Clara, we stopped at Barnes & Noble, where I bought more books I don’t need, but badly wanted. Then we went to DSW, where I bought some shoes I don’t need, but badly wanted. I sense a trend there… On Wednesday, we visited The Counter in Cupertino where my cousin works. That was my first time there, so I really enjoyed myself. Plus, the burger was outstanding. Yum! Thursday was of course Thanksgiving. After dinner my cousins and I went to see Mockingjay Pt. 2. I enjoyed the film, but it left me feeling unsatisfied. Friday we visited with friends, and then I finally got the chance to visit the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, which is something I’ve always wanted to do. Sadly, I wasn’t allowed to take pictures.
Now that I’m back home I’m sure time will fly by. I work for three weeks, and then will be out on winter break. My northern family will come down for Christmas, but with folks ailing there’s no telling who will be able to make it down. This week has flown by, and I’m just glad I have one more day of rest before heading back into the fray. One thing I’m excited for is the new Captain America: Civil War trailer that was released on Jimmy Kimmel on November 24th.
