I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

life outside the ‘net

This week was parent/teacher conference week, and boy was I pooped. The kids are trying to change their behavior, and for the most part have been doing a good job. With early dismissal all week, you’d think I would have had more energy, but I didn’t. Most nights I was passed out before 9:30 PM. The bright side is I fixed up my room before I left for Thanksgiving break, so that’s a load off my mind. Phew!

Today I leave to go up north to spend the holiday with family. I’m excited! I packed Friday, so hopefully I won’t forget anything. While I packed I marathoned Netflix’s newest series, Jessica Jones. It’s really good! I never read the comics, so I wasn’t very familiar with the story. I love how Netflix is showing all of the grittier comic storylines that might not have been as successful on the big screen due to them not being as popular as The Avengers, Iron Man, etc. Plus, those films tend to have more comedy in them, then the ones appearing on Netflix. I like that, because the storylines are grittier and geared more towards adults. The cast does a great job, and the storytelling is pretty great. Plus, I love how seamlessly it fits into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, taking place after the events in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

  1. I just started watching Jessica Jones last night and LOVE IT! I’m only 3 episodes in so far (it was 1am lol!) but I’m going to binge watch the rest today. I hadn’t read the comics either so I was unfamilar with the character too. But I’m really tempted to pick them up and read more of her story. I love how dark it is – Netflix have done a great job with it 🙂

I hope you enjoy Nuts. This was the first book I read from Alice Clayton and I loved it. I heard a lot about Jessica Jones and I need to watch it soon. I hope you have a great trip and a Happy Thanksgiving!!

I liked the Maze Runner trilogy, so I’m excited to begin this one. I can’t wait to read Nuts. It sounds really good.

  3. Thank you for linking up to my post! We’re watching Jessica Jones as well, such a cool series 😀 I never heard of her beforehand, but the Daredevil show was amazing, and JJ made all the expectations true.

Hope you have a great week!

I think I liked JJ more than Daredevil, because the action and mystery began immediately. Netflix is doing a great job with their Marvel series.
