The Week in Review: “Is it Friday Yet? (December 6th – December 12th)

I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Last week was another busy week. I had a ton of meetings at work, and have begun preparing lessons for my students for after winter break. Also, the kids have testing this last week of school. Trying to prepare them amid their frenzied excitement over the upcoming holiday and vacation proved difficult. Overall, last week was “painfully slow” as one of my students stated. I hope this week goes by fast, but part of me think it’ll drag even worse 🙁

Outside of work, I finished up my Christmas shopping, and attended my last two Japanese classes. Tomorrow night I have my final 🙁 I’m not prepared, so I guess that means I have to cram as much as possible today. It’s ok, though, because I’ve had a nice weekend. Besides, after Monday I’m done with school, and can enjoy my three-week vacation. Plus, maybe I’ll finally decorate the house for the holiday.

  1. Good luck on your exam! And enjoy those three weeks off! I only get one week but it’s wonderful to not have to get up and go every morning isn’t it? I have a little bit of shopping left to do. Been watching some Christmas movies to get in the mood:)

Thanks! I don’t feel prepared, but oh well! I’m just going to have to try and do my best. Hopefully it’ll work out. I can’t wait to have my days (mostly) to myself. I hope you enjoy your time off. A week is pretty good. Especially if you still have shopping to do. A lot of people have been watching the films. I haven’t yet. Buying gifts and decorating is as much spirit I can get into. I may listen to some music, though.

  2. I have my last 2 finals tomorrow too. And I am dreading them! Chemistry and German. Ughh.

You got a few really good books this week, so that’s awesome! Ya know, I’ve never read any of Armentrout’s YA work, which is actually a shame. Hope you enjoy all your books. Happy reading!!

Good luck on your finals! I hope you do well. JLA’s YA books are pretty good. You should check them out. I recommend her LUX and Covenant series.

Thanks! I need all the luck I can get. I just have one more gift to do, as another was in the mail when I got home from work today. Hopefully, you’ll feel better soon, so you can finish yours early before the crowd get worse.

Good luck on your exam! I’m curious to hear what you think of Illuminae. I also have a copy and the images in the book look really interesting. I hope you have a great week!

Thanks! My exam is tonight. UGH! I finished Illuminae last night, and I loved it. It’s a pretty unique book. Hope to get review up by Wednesday. Did you read it yet? Have a great week!

Thanks! I plan to once I’m on vacation. Hopefully you can get your shopping finished this week before the last minute shoppers go crazy in the mall.

  4. I’m going to have to prepare lesson plans over the holiday as well – and I have to say I look forward to making my own program, while staying within the guidelines of what the students are supposed to learn.
Have a great rest of the week, Tiffany 🙂

Thanks, Lexxie! I know you will find many cool and interesting things for your students to do after the holiday. It’s amazing what you can come up with when you get a chance to have a mental break, and relax for a bit. I hope you enjoy your week as well 🙂
