The Week in Review

I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This week was filled with appointments, pouring rain, and many good reads.

life outside the ‘net

This week was my first week back to work after being off 3 weeks for winter break. It was actually a pretty good week. My students seem more mature, and we got a lot accomplished. However, I was dead tired, passing out before 8pm most nights. While it was nice getting some sleep, I didn’t work on the site as much as I planned, and it took me forever to read my books this week. Considering all of that, I don’t have too much to report this week.

Aside from sleeping, I basically took care of my foot, which isn’t all that exciting. However, it has allowed me to put it up while I continue my The X-Files  marathon. I’m finally on season 5. I hoped to be finished with it, and maybe part of season 6 by the time the show returns. Still wondering if I should keep going, and watch the new episodes On Demand or on Hulu after I finish season 9.

I’ve been asked by several people to see the finished product of my TBR Jar, so here are some photos of my masterpiece 🙂

I can’t wait to read it. It’s been on my TBR for a while as well. I still might not have picked it up if I hadn’t accidentally found it at the library.

  1. I love how you’ve added so much color to your TBR jar project. I thought of doing something like that this year, but in the end decided I didn’t want to devote the time it would take to putting it all together. I’m so lazy.

Coming back to work after a long break can be a difficult adjustment I hope this new week will be better for you as you get back into a regular routine.

Yeah, I love looking at the jar. Haven’t used it yet, though. Maybe once I read my library books, and get a jump on my ARCs for next month. I need to, because a lot of books for my reading challenges are in there. Ha!

Yeah, I’m hoping this week is easier, too! I couldn’t believe how out of it I was. Crazy! Have a great week!

  2. That TBR jar is awesome! That’s a really great idea that I might have to try out. I went back to school this week and I, too, am exhausted. I definitely haven’t done as much blogging or reading as I need to. I look forward to seeing your thoughts on I Hunt Killers. That’s a book I’ve been wanting to read for a while. Have a great week!

Thanks! I’m loving the jar. Looking at it, anyway. I hope you try it out. I’d love to see what you do with it. Last week was hard. It’s good to see I’m not the only one. Hopefully this week will be easier for us. I’m excited to start I Hunt Killers. It sounds really interesting, and I’ve heard good things about it. Plus, I’ve been on a mystery/suspense kick lately. Hope you have a great week, too!

I plan to start Blue Lily tomorrow. The Dream Thieves was so good, that I’m hopeful this one will be as well. If you make a TBR jar, post pics. I’d love to see them! Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Your TBR jar is adorable! I love it 😀 Every time I see a Raven Cycle book on someone’s blog, I keep telling myself that I need to start the series because the characters sound great, but ugh, I still haven’t.

This may sound like a stupid question, but what do you teach? I’m glad your students are more mature though, whatever it is 🙂

It took a while for me to get into The Raven Boys, so I didn’t jump right into The Dream Thieves. I’m glad I did though, because I enjoyed it so much more. Not that the first book was bad, it wasn’t, just didn’t grab me right away. I’ve heard it gets even better with Blue Lily.

I’m an elementary teacher. For the past two years I’ve been teaching 5th grade. It’s a fun year, or can be, but also difficult. Sometimes working with the younger kids are easier. Last year I had a great class that I loved, and this year things have been difficult. However, the year seems to be heading in a smoother direction.

  4. I love how you did your TBR jar. I need to get started on mine. I have the jar and have been slowly making my list. I still haven’t read the Raven Cycle but I do love the cover. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books.

Thanks! I hope you post pictures of your jar when you finish. I’m enjoying The Raven Cycle. The thing that kills me, though, is that they end on cliffhangers. Luckily, I didn’t have to wait long to check out the third book from the library. Have a great week!

  5. I absolutely love the cover of Eleanor! It’s beautiful, and I really hope the story inside the book will be as well!
Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you this week, I’m swamped with exam preparations 🙁
Enjoy the rest of the week and happy reading.

Oh, no worries! Thanks for taking the time to stop by! Good luck on your exams. I hope they go well for you.
