The Week in Review

I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This week was filled with a bit of Happy Mail, sleepy nights, and lots of bookish dreaming.

This week has been pretty eventful. Monday I went to the dentist and orthodontist, and wound up getting braces to fix a problem that’s been getting steadily worse since I had my Wisdom teeth removed several years ago. I got clear ones, but I’m still self-conscious despite the many compliments I’ve received. I have to go back this Monday to finish off my first treatment. I only have to wear them for 12-18 months, but if I’d really thought about it, instead of being impulsive, I might have waited. 2016 is going to be a busy year, and probably not the best one for such a drastic change. Oh, well!

Tuesday I went back to work, and the week flew by. I received my first Uppercase subscription on Wednesday, and I love it! Definitely worth getting next month. Most of my activities surrounded work as my students were testing, and there were meetings to be had. So I fell asleep super early pretty much every night. Except Friday. That day I visited my aunt and uncle, and watched basketball. Other than this, I mostly spent the week reading Blue Lily, Lily Blue, and now I can’t wait for The Raven King to be released.

  1. At least you are getting the dental work out of the way, even if waiting might have been more ideal. I haven’t yet read anything by Maggie Stiefvater. One of these days! I love the idea of subscription boxes, but unfortunately I can’t justify them with my budget. 🙁 Maybe someday. I hope you have a great week.

  2. Congrats on the braces, hope that goes well. I had them as a younger person and would have liked to have the clear ones. 🙂

I love that Truthwitch map in your pic, I’m a sucker for maps in fantasy books. 🙂 I do want to read that one.

Nice survival crew post! that looks fun… good choices!

Thanks! I had the metal ones in high school. So glad I don’t have to go through that again. The clear aren’t as obvious. Plus, they don’t cut up your mouth like the metal ones. I’ve seen Truthwitch around, so I can’t wait to check it out. I also love maps in fantasy books, because it helps me visualize the journey the character takes. Glad you liked my survival crew. Tried to pick people who can do all the things I can’t. LOL! Hopefully they don’t think I’m the weakest link and cut me loose.

I figure I’ll try it out for a while. I got it, because it was cheaper than OwlCrate, but I may try that one next after a few UC orders. So far I’m addicted to AEiTA! It’s so good! I hate the freakin’ Commandant! She’s a huge beyotch, and I can’t wait for something horrible to happen to her. *fingers crossed*

I’m so addicted to it! I liked the Raven Boys, but it took me a while to get into it. Once I did I was hooked, but the 2nd and 3rd books grabbed me immediately and never let go. I’m scared to read the finale. Hopefully you will be able to catch up this year. There’s so many good books coming it, that it might be hard. LOL! Have a great week!
