The Week in Review

I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This past week was yet another week that I suffered from low energy, but this time I know why. Last Friday I came down with a cold, and it’s been knocking me out all week-long. Luckily, I feel like I’m finally on the other side of it, so next week I hope to feel back to normal.

For most of the week I rested, and tried to get well, so I didn’t read as much as I planned, but I enjoyed what I read. Now that I’m about over my cold, I hope to get back to reading as much as I normally do. The two books I read, Magnate, and Heart-Shaped Box, were both very good. I’ll eventually write a review for HSB, but not for Magnate. While it was good, I read it because of the crazy good cliffhanger in the first book, The Counsellor, which I read for a blog tour. If you ever get the time, you should definitely check out Celia Aaron’s books.

On Saturday, I went to my book club’s social gathering at the San Antonio Winery. We tasted wine, toured the winery, and had lunch. Overall it was a nice 4 hours of my Saturday. It was only my second time with the group, so it was nice getting to know everyone better. I can’t wait for the next discussion meeting. Now, if only I can find the time to read the book…

Excited For… / Watching

11.22.63, a miniseries based on Stephen King’s novel premiered this week on Hulu. I’ve been waiting for this new series for over a month. I never read the novel, but the trailer looks really great. The only disappointment is that Hulu doesn’t put all episodes up at once like Netflix does.

Aside from 11.22.63, Hulu has another new series coming out. This one premieres in March, and stars Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul.It looks like it’s also going to be pretty interesting.

I’ve hardly been using it. Like you, I have too many of my own books to read. The first episode of the SK series was really good, so I plan to continue watching. Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week 🙂

Thanks! It’s taken a while to feel normal again. So glad that’s over! Yeah, Netflix does spoil you. I just assumed Hulu would follow the same pattern. I hope you get the chance to check out both of the new series.

  1. Yeah I have to say I’m spoiled by Netflix. Binging has become my new favorite thing to do LOL. I need all the episodes now pretty much! I have jealousy for Starflight as I’ve read a few good reviews and saw it in the bookstore (it looks nice). I hope it’s good, I want to get that one soon.

Yeah, I was happy to receive Starflight. I had also seen it around. I think we’ve all been spoiled by Netflix. I barely watch TV live anymore. Now I read, and watch everything On Demand. Except got TWD. That has to be seen live.

It seems like Starflight is on many people’s list. It sounds really good. I can’t to read it. Thanks for stopping by!

I really like his books. I’ve been devouring JLA’s The Power, but I plan to review HSB tomorrow by the latest. Have a great week!

Doesn’t The Path look interesting? As soon as I saw Aaron Paul, I knew I’d check it out. HSB was the third Joe Hill novel I’ve read, and I really enjoy his writing. I need to check out Locke & Key. I’ve heard that’s pretty good, too!
