Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and this week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is “10 Websites I Waste a Lot of Time On (Then & Now).” This week it was easier to come up with websites I love to waste time on. If I follow your blog, and miss a week visiting it, the list below is the reason why. I’m on the Internet every day with the intent to visit other blogs, but then these sites suck me in. If I want to get any reading done, I’ll tell myself I’ll visit blogs in 30 minutes. Sadly, these buggers whisper to me, “just check one more thing.” Next thing you know, it’s time to go to bed. Doh! So without further ado, here are my “10 Websites I Waste a Lot of Time On (Then & Now).”

Instagram is my current ‘go to’ site for when I want to waste time. Between the #Bookstagram, and the #PlannerAddicts feed, I can lose myself for hours. I’ve had an account for years, but I wasn’t using it very much until recently. Now, not a day goes by that I’m not on looking at photos, or posting my own.
My number one time-sucker is actually YouTube. Though I no longer make fan vids, or interview folks, I can spend so much time on there, that it’s ridiculous. This is mostly because I love watching “Plan with Me” videos, and subscribe to several channels that will steal your life away. My current obsession is Cinema Sins, which picks apart every movie you love, and tells you what’s wrong with it. Hilarious! I’m also addicted to Cracked and Watch Mojo.
No matter if I’m looking for classroom ideas, new hairstyles, or anything book related, this is another time sucker that I love.
A day doesn’t go by that I’m on Amazon. Whether I’m looking at books, or one of the million other things they sell, or just wasting time, it doesn’t matter. There’s always a reason to visit Amazon.

I’m addicted to this site, and constantly look on here to … look. Especially this time of year when new stuff is coming out. I recently bought a new Teacher Plan Book for next year out of this year’s stock. True, the new ones are fabulous, but a discount is a discount. Especially when the new Life Planners come out next month. Since the office is nearby my home, I hardly need to pay for shipping. Yippee!
Honestly, do I really need an explanation?
I don’t go on here more than a couple of times a week, because whenever I do I’m stuck. Besides, this is the place where I connect with friends and family more often than by phone.
This site will steal your time and money. I love going on here to buy bookish or planner things, and even gifts.
I used to be addicted, ADDICTED, to Twitter. I would stay up to 3 or 4AM in the morning tweeting with tweeps on the other side of the world. I would Skype with tweeps about Twitter. I would even check it at work. Not anymore. After some Twitter stalking involving people who should know better, Fandom wars, and other drama, I have put Twitter aside. I still go on from time to time, but I don’t interact with people like I used to. The sad part? Now that I’m growing my blog, I should really get back into it, but I’m wary.
Tumblr was the site I got into around the time I became addicted to Twitter. I still have my Tumblr sites, but now that I run a site, I no longer go on like I used to. Sometimes I do check out book blogs I follow on there, but usually not. My addiction to Tumblr has been replaced by Pinterest. However, I still send posts there from the blog and my Instagram account.
