WEEK IN REVIEW: “Ship Ahoy!” (MAY 8th – MAY 14TH)

The Week in Review

I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This week has flown by, and it appears as if my wish that the last few weeks of school do just that has come true. My students took their end-of-the-year science test, and then on Thursday we went sailing. It was a wonderful day, and the kids had a blast. Next week they get tested on Language Arts and Math, and then there will be three more weeks left. If these past weeks are any indication, I believe the last 19 days will be over before I know it.

I received some good stuff in the mail this week. After using a personal planner for the past two months, I’ve begun to miss my Erin Condren, and writing in a larger planner. So, I ordered an A5 Kikki-K, unsprayed my ECLP, and put it into my new planner I’m loving it, and kind of wish I had done that from the get go. While I love my personal planner, and how I’ve set it up, the A5 is just easier for me to use. As of now I’m using them both. The personal planner for personal stuff, and the A5 for all business related things. That way I can take it to work, without worrying someone my see my private info. We’ll see how long that works.

excited for… / watching…

My current addiction is Marvel Unlimited. If you’re unfamiliar, it’s a comics subscription service Marvel offers for $9.99/month, and allows you to read their comics… unlimited. Like, Kindle Unlimited for Marvel titles. I’m enjoying a free first month, and love it, so I’ll most likely continue my subscription after the free trial is over. I’ve been reading comics for years, but I’ve had to slow my roll as my comic addiction was actually more expensive than my book addiction. Now I can catch up on all the stories I’ve halfway read through the years due to economics. I’m also loving it, because I can read a comic while I have downtime, and since they’re short I can finish them in one sitting. I don’t know why it took so long for me to subscribe, but I’m happy I did. If I stay addicted through the summer, I’ll probably upgrade to the yearly plan. It’s cheaper in the long run, and you get some cool swag.

  1. I’m glad the time is flying by for you! I always feel like somehow, at the end of the year, the time both flies and drags. That Marvel thing is so cool! I’m glad I know about that now. I know so many people who would love that. Hope you have a wonderful week!

Yeah, I’m really enjoying the Marvel subscription. I’m not a collector, so once I read them I’m essentially done with them. This is so much more economical and very convenient. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you! I’m so excited the end is near, I don’t know what to do 🙂 I’m really enjoying my planner. The personal one I just finished is lovely, but too small to write in. The A5 is perfect, and I think I’ve figured out how I plan to use it. Have a great week!

I’ve always had a thing for planners. I just got a personal size one that I’ve customized, but I still felt like I needed something bigger. I plan to use them differently so I don’t feel like I’ve wasted my money. We’ll see if I stay with it, or just end up using one. Have a great week!

I’d never been in a real sail boat, either. However, I’ve been on other kinds of boats, so I knew I’d love it. It was really cool, and the crew let my students sail the boat, and learn how to raise the sails. They had a blast! Glad you like my planner. I’m still not sure I’m done fixing it up yet, but it’s good for now. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Sailing!?! How fun- we never did that in school lol. Glad it’s almost summer. You got some fun looking civil War comics there.

Marvel Unlimited looks like a good thing…

IKR? I think the coolest thing I ever did in school was visit the planetarium. LOL! I love that it’s almost vacation time, because I really need a break. Plus, I can’t wait to go traveling. I’ve only read some of the Civil War comics, so it’s great getting a chance to read them all.

  3. Hey there. I’m glad time is flying by for you and is that a pic of you in the post? Lovely to see you if so!!!

I’m not a comic / graphic novel fan, but have enjoyed a couple of the TV adaptations….. especially Jessica Jones!

    Have a lovely week!

Yeah, that’s me! I usually don’t pose, but I figured it may be a while until I end up on another sail boat, so why not. Jessica Jones was so good! I can’t wait for season 2. Have a great week yourself 🙂

That’s what I’ve been hearing. I can’t wait to listen to it. Maybe I’ll start tomorrow on the way to work.

  4. The sailing sounds wonderful. I hope the last 19 days will fly by. I find planners really interesting, especially the bigger ones, but I haven’t really gotten one yet. I’m just using my agenda for my to do lists, tasks and appointments. It is quite full. Maybe for next year I’ll get one. 🙂
