WEEK IN REVIEW: “Strawberry Shortcake” (MAY 15TH – MAY 21st)

The Week in Review

I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This week my students were testing, so the week went by pretty fast, though was very boring. However, I made great strides towards getting ready for their end-of-the-year events, and feel better about everything. I also leveled my classroom library, which took an entire week, but my class library looks wonderful. On a personal front, I was suffering from anxiety a lot with everything happening, which I haven’t really dealt with much since October. Suffice it to say, I crashed early almost every night this week.

Friday night, my co-workers and I went to Happy Hour. I got really toasted, and had a great time. Great stress reliever! To sober up, a few of us went to see Captain America again. I’ve been wanting to do that since I first saw it, so I was glad I got the chance. Of course I started nodding off towards the end 🙁 At least I was sober enough to drive home. See… there’s always a silver lining!

On Saturday, I went to the Strawberry Festival in Oxnard. I haven’t been in years, and had a really great time. I’m still not brave enough to try strawberry nachos, or tamales, but I did eat a delicious pupusa (sans strawberries). I also had a frozen strawberry margarita, and strawberry shortcake. And of course I brought half a flat home with me. Aside from strawberry overload, I visited the Ring Around the Toezees booth, and bought myself a new stack of toe rings for my left foot. The set I wear on my right foot are great, comfortable, and I always receive lots of compliments on them. I think the new ones top the other set. I can’t wait to show them off this summer. I would show y’all, but I’m in bad need of a pedicure. LOL! Now, if only it felt like a true May in Cali, instead of the weird, cool weather we’ve been dealing with. Brrr!

Don’t they? 14 more days to go, and counting! I think I’m getting crazier than the kids. LOL! Enjoy your students your final week, and hang in there. The end is in sight 🙂

  1. It sounds like a great week. I’m glad you got lots of prep done and it sounded like you needed the early nights. And Friday drinks and movie also sound perfect.

I hope next week is another good one!

Yeah, I’m not one of those last minute people. I like my stuff done way in advance, so I’m not extra stressed. I don’t know how some teachers do it otherwise. Friday night was perfect! I really needed to blow off steam, and it was nice hanging out for a change. However, today, I’m just kicking back with my remote, so I can gear up for another week. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week!

  2. Oh, thanks for the reminder about Strawberry Shortcake! Now I’ll be obsessed until I have some…lol.

I am excited about Season II of Bloodline…can’t wait!

Enjoy your book haul, and thanks for visiting my blog.

Now that I have all of these strawberries, I’m going to try to come up with different things to do with them. Maybe I’ll make smoothies. I’m trying to catch up to all my shows so I can be ready for Bloodline’s release Friday. I know I’m going to devour it. Have a great week!

  3. You had a busy week and I tend to always doze in the movies 🙂 At least you already saw the movie!
Love the owlcrate this month, I really need to get someone to by me a subscription, might have to pass some hints to my husband about it 😉

I hope you have a great week! Happy Reading

I tried Uppercase Box earlier this year, and really enjoyed it. Since so many people seem to love OwlCrate, I figure I’ll give it a try for a few months. Then I’ll decide if I really need a subscription to either, or which one I prefer. We’ll see! I hope you get your hubby to get you one so you can check it out for yourself. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Strawberry nachos? I’m not sure I’m ready for that either… and I want to see Captain America again too, it’s awesome on the big screen. Loved it!

I’m also looking forward to S2 of Bloodline…

  5. That strawberry festival sounds really neat! I would probably be like you ad not be overly adventurous in my strawberry endeavors, but I would eat a ton because I love fruit! I’ve never watched Bloodline, but I know my dad is really excited for the second season to come on Netflix haha! Hope you have a wonderful week!

Bloodline is pretty good. You should definitely marathon season 1 if you get a chance. I’m curious to see where the story is going to go this season, as the series probably could’ve just been one season. I hope it’s not like Revenge, where I wish they didn’t continue.

    • @Angelized_1st

LOL, you’re really adventurous! Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to try them. Thanks for stopping by!

  6. What’s a little tipsiness between friends, right. LOL We all need to let it loose once in a while. You went and saw Captain America again! I just finished watching all of the Captain America and Avengers movies to get ready.

That’s great! It’ll be totally worth it, because you’ll better see how everything connects. Can’t wait to see what you think of CA once you see it.

The week’s going by pretty well. I have a three day weekend, so that’s always nice. Now that there’s only nine school days left, I’m pretty relaxed, but I’m not getting much reading done. I keep falling asleep super early 🙁 Have a nice weekend!
