I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
This week I started Nutrisystem. I’ve been thinking about it for a few months, and decided to take the plunge. Especially after all the physical problems I had traveling. My ankles and feet swelled up horrible from the plane, and my joints are killing me. Since diabetes runs in my family, I decided to lose some weight before that (if it hasn’t already) becomes an issue. It’s been good so far. I lot 4 lbs during my trip to Japan (their serving sizes are unbelievably small), and have lost 6 lbs this past week in the diet. The food isn’t the bad tasting, and now I’m used to eating way fewer calories. I hardly get hungry. Plus, the plan has me eating small meals 5-6 times a day, so how could I? Working out a bit during the week helps as well.
*I’m not getting paid to promote Nutrisystem
On Tuesday, I went to visit my friend Raquel, and we saw Central Intelligence. It was pretty funny, but could’ve been better. Still, it was nice to visit with her. We used to work together, but she resigned at the end of the school year. Now I’ll have a new room partner ;( Aside from Tuesday, I basically hung around the house, organized my bedroom, and watched Netflix. Two of the shows I got into were Syfy’s Dark Matter and a Netflix original series titled, The Between. I thought I had seen Dark Matter, and couldn’t get into it, but I was confusing it with The Expanse. The Between reminded me of a Gone rip-off. Maybe it’s because I just read the series, but it’s eerily familiar. However, I enjoyed season 1, and plan to watch season 2 this week.
Finally, my long-awaited Foxy Fix traveler’s notebook arrived on Saturday. As you probably already know, I’m into planners, and during my trip to Japan decided to move my bullet journal from my Moleskine notebook, and into a TN. The main reason behind this is because there were things in my Moleskine that I would still need after I finished using it, and I was more than half-finished with it. If you don’t know what a TN is, it’s a leather cover where you can insert individual notebooks. Now I can separate my stuff into different notebooks, and not lose the stuff I want to hand on for a while when I replace my weekly journal. Phew! Anywho, it came and I fell in love.
This week I went a little crazy with my one-click addiction during Amazon’s Prime Day. I saw some interesting books for $1.99 that I couldn’t pass up. Especially books 2 & 3 in Z. A. Recht’s Morningstar Strain series. Sadly, it’s been 4 or 5 years since I read book 1, so a re-read is definitely in order before I can continue. I try to get out, but they keep sucking me back in! *cue the 🎻*
