The Week in Review

I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This past week was pretty short, because of Labor Day weekend.  Plus, my school district gave us Friday off for California Admissions Day. Whatever! I’ll take any excuse to have four days off. Hopefully when I return it’ll fly by since I’ll only have a four-day week (again).

Friday I celebrated being footloose and fancy free by getting my hair done. Ah… such a wonderful feeling! Part of my head is shaved, and was growing out, so I needed to go badly. I was there forever, but it gave me time to finish my book club read for Saturday’s meeting. On Saturday, I went to said meeting. It was nice visiting with the girls, as I missed last month to go to my first ever Dodger’s game. Not that I’m complaining! I really enjoyed the book selection, and can’t wait to check out September’s book which I picked up from the library on Wednesday. Usually I spend this weekend camping, but this year I plan to devour A Torch Against the Night, and catch up on all my tv shows.

  1. New haircuts are always nice. I am hoping to get some reading done with my extra day off, but I also have a short paper to write for one of my classes..ugh. I am such a procrastinator! The Devil’s Prayer looks interesting. Hope you enjoy all your reads!

    Happy reading,

I heard good things though. I hope you have a great weekend, reading and catching up on shows doe sound pretty good. 🙂

I haven’t read any of her other books. I have a lot on my plate to read right now, but maybe I’ll check that one out as well. Probably after I finish the Newsflesh series, and I also want to read Grant’s Parasitology series.

The weekend was nice. Sadly, I ended up wit a sinus cold, so that put a damper on part of the weekend. However, I did enjoy lying around and resting. Thanks for stopping by!

I love it! I used to go more often, but now that I cut my hair short I find I don’t need to go as much.

  3. That’s nice you got four days off! I actually always disliked going to the hairdresser and eventually just got my mom to cut my hair for me. but my hair is pretty easy nowadays as I keep it all on the same length, just need to get the dead ends trimmed now and then. That’s great you got to finish your book while at the hairdresser. I hope September will be a god month too!

I needed those days. I know the school year just started, but I’ve been so busy lately that I’m exhausted. It was wonderful! I only go get my hair done about every 6 weeks these days to get my ends trimmed as well, and my style maintained. I should probably go more, but…
