The Week in Review

I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This past week was parent conference week at school, so the kids got out each day. Usually this week drags, but for some reason it flew by. Not that I’m complaining. My turnout was very poor as only 9 parents attended, but I used the dow time to get a lot of work done. Not much else happened last week. Mostly because I kept falling asleep earlier and earlier. Finally on Friday, I ended up asleep by 7pm, and awake by midnight. Doh! As for Saturday, I did laundry, packed for my trip to the Bay Area, and relaxed.

I return to L.A. next Saturday, so I may or may not have a post up for next Sunday. If not, I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving, and I’ll see you next time!

  1. Glad you were at least able to get some work done during the down time. Conferences are always hit or miss for me. The parents I want to see never show up and the parents that I don’t need to see because their child is doing amazing always show up! Oh well!

IKR? I guess it goes to show you why the child is they way they are. Being a part of your child’s life is so important. It’s a shame some people don’t understand that.

  2. That’s pretty slack re the parents’ attendance at parent / teacher conferences. Is that typical? I guess unless I met with / talked to my child’s teacher a lot I’d be quite interested in what they had to say.

It wasn’t something that happened when I was at school and of course I don’t have kids, but most parents I know usually like to attend them and get something out of them.

I usually have higher attendance. At least for the first conferences. I understand why the ones who work couldn’t make it since we had them in the afternoon, instead of evenings, but some just sit at home and have no excuse.

  3. I’m glad your week flew by! And sorry about the low parent turnout, but at least you had some time to get things done.

Wow, you must’ve been exhausted to fall asleep at 7! But yeah, I have something similar happen that if I go to bed before a certain time, I inevitably wake up at 4am and cannot fall back asleep no matter what I do, and then I just end up even more exhausted -_-

    Have a great week!

I’ve decided not to look down on my weird sleep pattern, and just embrace it. It is, what it is 🙂

Working is a great excuse. Especially since we have them around 2pm. However, some of mine who didn’t show stay at home, and live in walking distance. Plus, they came to the school to pick up their kids.
