I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. I’ve been busy the past two weeks with parent conferences approaching this coming week, report cards, and a weekend getaway to Laughlin last weekend. Like usual, I’ve been falling asleep crazy early, and it still takes forever for me to finish a novel. Since I’ve feel like I’ve been negative the last few Week in Reviews, I’ll just highlight the positives that have happened to me.
At the beginning of the month, I received my new Chic Sparrow traveler’s notebook. It’s a gorgeous pink that I’ve decked out with teal, and white accessories. While it’s not particularly Fall like, I’m enjoying it. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that Tis have been an obsession of mine since the summer. I literally have bought one every month since July.
Please stop me! However, I think my latest one is the one I’ll be in for a while. One thing I’ve been hooked on is sketching in my TN. I bought a nice insert with great paper from Jenny at Planner Perfect, and I love it! I sketch in it, paint in it, and even journal in it. I find it’s been really helpful on extremely stressful days, and now I want to focus on writing in it on the “good” days as well.
Laughlin was nice. I didn’t do much as I don’t gamble, but it was nice to take a “mental health” day. Plus, I was supporting my aunt’s charity. I ended up with a room to myself, and it was great to just relax. I did hit the outlet, which lost half of its stores, but managed to make a few good purchases for the Fall. One of which is a great, comfy new jacket. As soon as it drops below 80 degrees, I may actually get to wear it 🙁 My cousins and I caught a showing of the new Madea film, and it was hilarious! I don’t think I would have paid full price for it, but it was good enough for the matinee. If you haven’t seen it, and need a good laugh, check it out.
This past week flew by. A lot of positive changes occurred in my classroom, and I hope things just keep getting better from here on out. I also had lots of appointments this week, so I continued my early nights. When I was awake, I bought up on all my shows, and continued my Supernatural marathon. I’m now on season 7, and it’s fun because I missed many of these episodes. Things just weren’t the same to me without Bobby or Cass, and I kind of fell off the series. Even though I’ve reached the part where I gave up before, I’ve managed to push on. I guess knowing a bit of what happens in later seasons helps.
Other than that, not much has happened. I read Marissa Meyer’s Heartless, and just finished the new Stefanie Pintoff mystery, City on Edge. Both are really good books. I’m currently reading James Dashners’ The Eye of Minds, which I bought months ago. Now that I’m caught up on my ARCs, I can start working on my TBR shelf. Thank, God!
