I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This week flew by very fast. True, I only worked four days last week, but those weeks usually are the longest, because the kids act up. They were actually pretty great, though, so I’m going to bring a treat for them tomorrow. Plus, the winter rain storm kept me sequestered with my students all-day long 🙁 On Tuesday, I visited another school to learn how they use Google Classroom in their class. It was very informative, and a lot to process. Lat week was the first week I used it with mine, and they students enjoy it. I think it will make small group instruction easier, because now the kids are occupied with the computer.

Wednesday I spent the entire day on campus in a meeting, so I didn’t see the kids. The day went very slowly for me, as I was exhausted. The dog had a tantrum during the night, and spent it crying under my bedroom window and scratching at the wall. I gave him the silent treatment until I returned home from work Thursday. LOL!

Thursday I had a nice day with the kids playing catch up. They completed the work I’d left the sub, and I was able to get a lot done. Then that evening I visited with my cousin who was in town for a NASA conference. Even though I just saw him last month, it was still nice having a family dinner with him, my other cousins, and my aunt and uncle.

On Friday the rain storm continued to freeze, but I had another surprisingly nice day with my students. Then that evening I hooked up with friends and had a vision board party. It was the first time I created one, and it was really fun doing it as we laughed and talked around the inauguration. Overall, it was a great week spent with friends and family, and I’m off to a good start with being more active with loved ones in 2017.

  1. Sounds like you had a pretty good week. I started my graphic design class last week and I am a bit nervous as I am the oldest in the class and feel way behind already by just seeing the cool things they did compared to my squiggly lines….lol. Time will tell. 🙂

I can’t wait to see your review for The Bat!

Hope you have a great week this week and happy reading!!

Oh, I hope you have a great time! Your class sounds like so much fun. Don’t be nervous, you’ll catch up. Have a great week!

I enjoyed The Bat. I’ll try to have the review up the week. I’ve been lazy about reviews 🙁 I already have Cockroaches, and probably will read it after I finish my current book. I heard The Snowman was good, so I can’t wait to get to it. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I am so glad you had such a great week with your students! Its so true about shorter weeks-something about getting out of the routine for a day that just throws the kids totally off! Even my high schoolers struggle when its a short week! Hope this week is just as awesome!! Well, except for the dog temper tantrum…

LOL, the dog is spoiled beyond words. I completely take the blame for that. So far, my week is off to a good start, so fingers crossed. Have a great week!

  3. The weather has been crazy in Northern CA too. It’s raining right now and we don’t get a break from it until Wednesday. Last week was short for me too and I wish it can always be that way lol. Our dog Koko wakes us up every morning before 5 am so I don’t need to use my alarm clock lol. These dogs can be crazy but they are too adorable lol. I hope you have a good week!

Luckily, the rain here is supposed to stop after today. Thank god! My students need to get out for recess and P.E. I also nee the break. Enjoy your week!

  4. Your students are very lucky as you sound like a committed teacher! I haven’t even heard of Google Classroom so am intrigued! How great you’re staying on top of the latest stuff!

This is my first year starting Google Classroom, and it’s pretty neat. I can really see the benefit for upper grades. Even my 5th graders think its cool. I’m trying to stay savvy, because these kids need to be prepared. It’s a bit overwhelming at times, though. Thanks, Debbie!
