I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

I wish I could say I was too busy to post last week, but I wasn’t I was just lazy. That doesn’t mean that I haven’t been busy, though.   I’ve been trying to get back to reading more than one book a week, and failed. I’m still burnt out, I guess. Last weekend I got my hair done, and went to the monthly book club meeting. As always, I had a blast. This week was parent conferences, so the kids got out early. My days went by really fast, and before I knew it the week was over. One of the highlights of my week was receiving my new traveler’s notebook that I plan to take to Europe this summer.

As for Saturday, I hung out with friends and saw Kong. It was really good! I also went to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to see the Alvin Ailey Dance Company perform. The music was wonderful, and so was the dancing. However, I found myself nodding off towards the end due to the darkness and great music. The night ended with pancakes, because what else is better than breakfast close to midnight? YUM!

I’m motivated, but just kind of tired. Too tired to read, watch tv., or anything. It’s been a stressful school year. I can’t wait for June! I’m hoping this week will better as I’m addicted to my current book. Glad to hear your slump is over. Have a great week!

Both are very good films. And also very different. Maybe you should have done a double-feature. LOL!

  1. My husband and I went to see Kong too, and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It was interesting because I actually disliked most of the characters, but I liked that I disliked them because I thought it made them feel more real. So I ended up leaving the theater with mixed emotions 😛 I also hadn’t expected so much comedy! So that was a pleasant surprise 🙂

I agree. The characters weren’t very likable people. The one person I wanted to survive died, so after then I didn’t care who lived. However, I enjoyed the plot, and the action.

  2. I empathize about burnout. I’m just now recovering from one. Hopefully, you will feel like reading and writing more soon. I’m glad you liked Kong. I heard it sucked. We watched Passengers on XBox video instead of seeing Kong in the theater like we had planned.

Passengers was pretty good, but it was totally different than what I expected. I need to see it again in order to form an opinion about it.
