I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Last week I was still struggling with this cold, and a horrible cough so I didn’t do much other than work and sleep. However, a highlight of the week was hanging with my friends from work Friday for Happy Hour. It was really fun blowing off steam at the end of a busy work week, and a great way to kick off spring break. I have no plans this week for my vacation time, but to read and catch up on some Netflix. I have no complaints, though. It’s good to be off for a week, and even nice to realize I have less than 50 days in the school year. Hallelujah! While I’ve had a great class this year, I’m just too damn worn out. I swear every year this job gets more and more stressful. Having great students does make it worthwhile, though.

Another highlight of the week was playing with my new iPad Pro. Last year I bought the smaller one, but it was a bit too small for my needs. Apple currently has a trade-in deal where you can get money back on an old model towards a new purchase. So I upgraded to the large iPad. I was afraid it would be awkward to carry around, but it totally isn’t and is great to draw with. Now I feel like I can really use Procreate, and have begun to create a digital sketchbook. So much fun! Plus, WordPress looks better and I can use all of my blog’s features I had difficulty accessing on the smaller device. It put me in the hole, but I have no regrets.

I also received my Chic Sparrow Maverick traveler’s notebook that I pre-ordered the other week. I need another TN like I need a hole in the head, but I’ve been wanting one in this leather for nearly 2 years. Of course, I wasn’t desperate for it until the leather was retired. Since it became unavailable, CS has had special sales of it, but my size (b6 Slim) was always sold out when I tried to purchase it. I guess this time was my time! The notebook is a beautiful buffalo leather that’s very stiff and textured. It has a lot more “lightning strikes” that I thought I wanted initially, but now I really love it. I’ve heard this means the piece will soften up a lot more with time and use because of this feature. I’ve only been using it since Thursday, so only time will tell.

I just started getting into Agatha Christie works. And enjoying her too. Your leather travel notebook looks great. Have a great reading week.

I’m really enjoying being off, and really needed it. Sorry you have to work, but at least you have nice weather 🙂

  2. Reading and Netflix sound like pretty good spring break activities to me! I had a quiet weekend this weekend and did some of both of those things! It was kinda nice… 🙂

I need to read some Agatha Christie soon. As many thrillers and mysteries as I read, I need to read some of hers!

I’ve been on a mystery kick lately, so it seemed fitting I get back to reading the Queen of Mystery. LOL! Crooked House is now on Amazon Prime. Trying to decide if I’ll watch it now or after the book. My TBR is so long that I probably should just watch the film. Doh! I keep trying to venture out the house, but every time I do I have a coughing fit. This damn cold doesn’t seem to want to let me go. Ugh! I’m glad to hear you had a nice weekend!
