I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
On Sunday, my friends and I celebrated Danielle’s birthday with a brunch. It was really great, but also had a dark cloud due to the breaking news about Kobe Bryant. That news seemed to cover the entire week, as Los Angeles is in mourning. You can’t go anywhere without Kobe being memorialized. It’s all over social media, billboards, and even buses. Even though I’m not really a sports fan, I can’t help but feeling the grief everyone is feeling.
On Saturday, I went to my monthly book club meeting. We discussed our January book of the month, Sula by Toni Morrison. I really enjoyed the book, but many of my sisters did not. I’ll get more into it in my review. Aside from these events, honestly, this week is a blur. I can’t remember much beyond work. I guess that must be all, because I didn’t get a chance to read as much as I wanted, or work on the blog. I didn’t even get to blog hop. I’m hoping to do better this week.
