Right after I finished reading Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, I jumped right into the second novel, Crescendo. The novel picks up right where Hush Hush left off.
Nora and Patch are finally truly together, but outside forces cause Nora to doubt Patch who has now become her Guardian Angel. Besides dealing with Archangels who want Patch to repeat history so they can throw him in Hell, Nora is seeing her deceased father. Or is she? Trying to figure out if Patch really loves her, Nora also is determined to unmask the identity of her father’s killer once and for all. Strange alliances are formed, betrayal is around the corner, and an old acquaintance returns.
I really enjoyed this book, but Nora was extremely frustrating and annoying. She continued to trust the wrong people, and jumped on Patch for every little thing. I did like how Fitzpatrick veered away from Twilight by having Nora be both Edward and Bella. Also loved the introduction of the “Jacob” to this love triangle, though like Twilight it’s obvious the triangle is lopsided. I wish I could say I was surprised by anything that happened, but I wasn’t. Still I throughly enjoyed reading it.
