Meet The New Boss. Same As The Old Boss.

No one is surprised by the Falling Skies season 3 finale, are they? I mean, the writing was on the wall from the very beginning, and I doubt anyone thought the Volm were just benevolent creatures. While they aren’t trying to eradicate the human population quite yet, their cavalier attitude about the resistance fighters may be an indication that that’s where things are headed next season. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s back up a bit.

Falling Skies 3x10 - Brazil 11The episode began with the 2nd Mass blowing up the Espheni dome/laser/grid thing with the Volm weapon. Not sure how the thing got fixed since last week since all of Cochise’s engineers were killed by Lourdes, but I guess Dr. Kadar had something to do with it. Anywho, the Espheni were defeated, and the Volm wasted no time swooping in to colonize the planet in their snowflake space ships. I can’t be the only one who thought that, right? After they landed, Tom and Weaver wasted no time trying to rally with the reinforcements, but Cochise’s pops had no intention in listing to them. As far as he was concerned they were going to be in the way, and he planned to ship all of them to Brazil. Fisticuffs ensued, and Tom got knocked out cold. I don’t know what was funnier – Tom getting knocked-out, or Papa Volm confused why Americans would have a problem with being relocated to a new country. While I felt Tom and Weaver’s pain, I could look at the bright side. Brazil’s beaches are better than Boston’s. Just saying…. (More…)
