The Blacklist Tricks Audience With Surprise Ending
This week’s episode of The Blacklist followed Liz as she worked case number 152, Gina Zanetakos, in order to free her husband Tom of suspicion. While we begin the episode where we left off last week, with Tom confronting Liz about the box he discovered in the floor, the episode goes on to reveal some shocking things that neither Liz nor the audience were prepared for. By the end of the episode Liz was left to believe her husband Tom was innocent and that Red had used her. I, for one, think things were little bit of both as the man who bugged Liz’s home discussed Tom as being a real spy and Red himself admitted he is assisting the CIA capture criminals as a diversion.
“Liz it’s me. I don’t know what’s going on but it’s a huge misunderstanding.” – The whole story with Liz’s investigation into Tom this week was crazy. The episode began with Tom confronting Liz about the box and blaming her for keeping secrets for the past several weeks. Not only that, but when Tom gave her permission to contact her employers to bring him in for questioning, it was obvious Liz actually believed he was guilty. This wasn’t the crazy part. The crazy part was that Liz actually turned her back on a man she believes to be a murderer to use the telephone. Not only did we learn that Tom’s middle name is Vincent, but that he has been having an affair with a corporate terrorist named Gina Zanetakos. For the rest of the episode Liz attempted to track down Gina so that she could question her about Tom. However, while Liz was looking to clear her husband’s name, the CIA was looking to see if Liz was an accessory to Tom’s crimes. In the end Tom was cleared of everything and fingered Red’s right-hand man as the man who lured him to Boston. This led Liz to believe that Red has set her up. Going forward Liz won’t have much trust in Red, and it will be interesting to see the two of them trying to solve cases now that they’re back to square one. (More…)
