The Week in Review: “Graduations and BBQs” (June 14th – June 20th)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. This meme gives bloggers a chance to share with readers what we bought, borrowed, swapped, won or received for review each week. I also decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Gaslamps and Diplomas

Last week I traveled to Palo Alto for my niece’s graduation at Stanford University, and this week I traveled to San Diego for my own. My family and friends joined me as I received my Masters in Education, and it was a great day. Not to mention that we had a blast after the graduation ceremony. Then I ended my week with a BBQ bash. All in all it was a pretty good week, if not as productive blogwise as I originally planned.

Thank you! Scorched was really good. I think I enjoyed it more than Frigid. Thanks for the heads up on The Raven Boys. It’s been on my TBR list for years. Finally getting to it, because I’m doing the July Read-Along with Bookish Lifestyle. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

I find that I like some of her books more than others. If you really enjoyed her LUX series, then I recommend you check out The Covenant series. It was really good. So far, The Dark Elements has been a bit uneven. I found fault with the first novel, but loved the second one. Both reviews will be out this week, so you can check them out and see if they’re your cup of tea. But Covenant? I want that to become a tv series so badly! Plus, her new Titan series, is a Covenant spin off.

Are you talking about Scorched or White Hot Kiss? Scorched didn’t seem like what I normally read, but I read Frigid out of curiosity, and like it. Mostly, I read it because I saw that the sequel was coming out.

Thanks! We had a good time. I’m excited to begin the Raven series, and heard it was good. I like Stiefvater’s other books, so I think I’ll like this one as well. We’ll see!

  1. Congratulations on your MA in education, Tiffany! That’s an amazing achievement, and you definitely deserved to celebrate for a bit 🙂
I loved The Raven Boys, and I hope you will, too. Your other new books look good as well.
Have a great week and happy reading.

Thank you so much! I may have done a bit too much celebrating. LOL! Glad to hear you liked The Raven Boys. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it so far. Have a great week, as well! Thanks for stopping by!
