The Week in Review: “Vroom!” (October 18th – October 24th)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. This meme gives bloggers a chance to share with readers what we bought, borrowed, swapped, won or received for review each week. I also decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Life Outside the ‘Net

This week was pretty uneventful, except for the fact that I bought myself a new car. My beloved Prius was falling apart, and becoming too expensive for me to maintain. After returning to my car last Sunday when I was grocery shopping, and discovering the hatchback door handle was disintegrating, I decided that was the last straw. I went to the dealer, told him what I wanted, what I could do. If it worked, great. If not, then I’d come back when I was in a better place financially. He was able to meet my demands, and I was able to drive off with my new Ford Fusion. YAY!

So far I love it! The gas mileage isn’t as good as the Prius, of course, but it’s pretty darn good. It drives like a dream, has a great sound system, and lots of bells and whistles. More importantly, it’s a lease, so in three years I can get a new one. Right when the warranty expires. Perfect for me. The best thing? I won’t need to get maintenance until about 7-10,000 miles. Considering I only drive 6.5K a year? Priceless!

I’ve never read the third one. I ordered it as a set from Scholastic, and it came with a glow in the dark hand book light. I plan to read it this week.

Thanks! I can’t wait to read them again. It’s been a while. I’m loving my car as well. It’s so nice! Have a great week!

  1. I really need to continue on with the Throne of Glass series. I read ToG last year and while I liked it I didn’t love it. However, I hear from everyone that the books only get better so maybe I need to give it another try. Congrats on the new car! A friend of mine has a Fusion and loves it. I just recently got a new one myself – a Chrysler 200 – and am so happy with it. Gotta love that new car smell! 🙂

Congrats on your new car as well. I don’t think I’ve seen the 200 yet. Yeah, that new car smell is the best! ToG is so crazy good. It does get better with each book. I plan to finish Queen of Shadows today, and am almost done. Sadly, I’m going to hate the wait for the next one.

Thank you! I was surprised at how easy it was. Probably my easiest car buying experience to date. I plan to enjoy the books. Maybe with some hot cocoa, a blanket, and my new glow in the dark book light 😉 Have a great week, yourself!

Congrats on the new car! We just bought a Ford Edge and I like it. This is our first Ford so I’m really surprised with how good the car is. I love the covers of the scary books, they are really creepy. I hope you have a great week!

You did? Congratulations to you as well! My first car was a Ford Probe, but they sure have come a long way. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the car is for what I paid for it. Thanks! Have a great week as well!
