I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
This week has been another week where I’ve passed out at a crazy early hour. So, my reading has suffered a bit. I did finish one book, though, and it was really good. Good enough that I’m now reading the sequel. Michael Grant’s writing is really great, and I can’t help but turn the page to see what’s coming next. Aside from spending the week inhaling Gone, I tried to read another book that I couldn’t bring myself to finish, and starting an ARC that I’m really digging.
My weekend was a bit busy, but nice. Friday was payday. Woo hoo! I won’t lie. I’ve been broker than broke, so having a bit of green made my day. Then after work I went to Happy Hour with friends from work. It’s been a long time since we last did that, and I really needed to hang out with friends. Then on Saturday I went to my first meeting of Mocha Girls Read book club meeting. The women seem really nice, and were very welcoming. I loved discussing Dorothy Must Die with them, and will definitely go back for the next meeting.

It was great getting out for a change. However, I’m looking forward to a lower key weekend this week.
It’s really cool that you found a book club to go to! I wish I had one of those where I live (or at least one I knew about). I haven’t done any reading at all this week (or the past few weeks, since school started back up). so you’re doing better than me. Hope you have a wonderful week!

With spring break coming up soonish, you’re sure to get some non-school related reading done. Good luck with this semester!
You have some awesome reads there, I can’t wait to read Stars Above and the Lunar Chronicles. Have a good week!

Hahahaha! No, I think this weekend was more than I could handle. I’m so tired now! I have a three day weekend coming up, and I’m looking forward to relaxing with my book haul. Have a great week!
That’s great that you got to have a good time with your payday money 😀 And yay for books and ARCs you’re loving! I’ve been meaning to borrow These Broken Stars from the library, crossing my fingers that we’ll both like it!

I’ve heard a lot of good things about These Broken Stars, so I hope it’s worth the hype. Good luck with snagging a copy from the library. Ive been using it a lot more to cut back on my book spending. Though, I’m not as successful as I thought I was. LOL!
I only read one book to this week, and was lucky to get through that one. LOL. Maybe this week will be better… glad you had a good weekend. Your new books look good… 🙂

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you can get more than one book done this week 🙂
You’ve got quite a wide array of books or genres there!
I can relate to the payday thing. I’ve only worked intermittently since taking a redundancy and making a seachange 3yrs ago and am about to restart part time work (as you would have read on my blog) and am mostly excited about having a bit of $ again!

What sucks is my school district only pays us once a month. So the beginning of the month it’s like it’s raining cash for a day until I pay bills. Then I’m broke for at least two weeks. Ugh! I miss bi-weekly paydays 🙁 I’m glad you’re getting back to work. Even if it’s part-time. Being without $ is the worst! I hope you enjoy your new gig!
I’m glad you enjoyed your book group! And payday is always welcome. You got some good(looking) books this week, too. I have These Broken Stars on Kindle (still need to read it) and want to read Stars Above. Have a great week!

Yeah, book club was really neat, and they also do social activities together. I need to venture out and meet some more new people. I feel like it’s a good fit 🙂
I am testing out Amazon Prime and will take a look at Haunting book you snagged. Payday is always nice. My husband and have been crawling into bed around 9 and watching movies/reading since its so cold. We look like the grandparents from Willy Wonka,..all bundled up. LOL

LOL! The grandparents are too cute in that film! I signed up for Student Amazon Prime yesterday. Im also trying it out. Everyone who has it seems to love it. I think my problem is I crawl into bed by 4pm to read, because my bed is comfortable, and I prefer it to the couch. That’s probably my downfall. Have a great week!
