I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
This past week was pretty low-key. As the last weeks of the school year come to a close, I’ve been busy getting my students ready for their states tests, as well as all of their 5th grade end-of-the-year activities. The bright side: most of my students are maturing, so their behavior isn’t one of my stresses any more. Having said that, by the time I get home I’m exhausted, so I didn’t do much visiting as I wanted to this week to other blogs. I started out doing pretty well, but as the week progressed, I was just too worn out.
Saturday I participated in Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-thon. It was my first read-a-thin, and I had a blast! Sadly, I passed out after 20.5 hours 🙁 So my goal next time is to make it the full 24 hours. However, I managed to read four books: The Haunting of Blackwood House by Darcy Coates, The Space Between by Michelle L. Teichman, and two volumes of The Walking Dead that have sat on my iPad for over a year. The gang is finally out of the prison, and met Eugene. I’m hoping to catch up to the series before the next season, and still have 4 volumes on my iPad to read.
None. Say what?!?

excited for… / watching…
Anyone who knows me knows my favorite book series of all-time is George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, which HBO adapted into their series, Game of Thrones. Well, season 5 premiere’s tonight, and I can’t wait! Finally, everyone I’ve hooked on this amazing series can stop asking me when it’ll be back. While I’m always excited to watch a new season, this season is extra special, because it may cover material not in the five currently released books. The idea that fans may finally get a preview of what awaits us in the long-awaited sixth installment is bananas, and kinda scary. This will be the first time I may see something that I haven’t read, and worry that it’ll affect my opinion of Winds of Winter, whenever the hell it’s released.
Another series I can’t wait to see is season 3 of Showtime’s Penny Dreadful, which premieres next Sunday. This series is so good, and Eva Green kills every scene she’s in. While I’ve always been a fan of this series, I think the season 3 trailer has me the most excited. Based on what it shows, I think this may be the darkest, and most exciting season yet!
