THE WEEK IN REVIEW: (January 1st – January 7th)

Posted January 8, 2017 by @Angelized_1st in Memes, The Sunday Post / 12 Comments

I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This was my last week of vacation, so I pretty much ran all the errands I needed to get done before returning to work tomorrow. On Tuesday, I went to the orthodontist. Not exactly very riveting, but I did learn I’m close to getting my braces off. YAY! Wednesday I got my hair done. I was growing it out, but over the holiday remembered how much I hate doing it, so I got it chopped off again. Thursday I got my nails done, and met one of my friends for lunch. It was great spending time with her. Monday and Friday were lazy days, so I just read, knitted, and worked on the blog. Lastly on Saturday I went to my monthly book meeting. As always it was a blast hanging with the ladies, and even though I didn’t read the book of the month I’m glad I went. I end the week having dinner with friends, and laughing about everything. Very cathartic!

OMG, yes! I can’t wait to get them off. Not that it’s as bad this time around as it was in high school, but it’s time. Hopefully it sticks this time. Thanks for stopping by!

I’ll probably do a Sherlock Holmes read through before I get to it. For some reason it seems like I should. I’ve heard good things about it, so I hope the hype is warranted. Have a great week!

It wasn’t too bad. I’ve been wanting to read Headhunters since the film came out, but keep putting it off. Trying to ease myself into Nesbø’s writing. I liked the book, but I’ve heard his later books are better than this one. We’ll see!

  1. I’m glad you got most of your chores out of the way. I’m the same with my hair and my life feels like a cycle of cutting it, hating it, growing it, hating it, cutting it etc etc…

Do you believe I’ve never read any Jo Nesbo?! I’m not sure how / why and am sure I should rectify that at some point.

Isn’t it a cycle? Usually I try to wait until summer, but it seemed like a good idea to make a change. I’ve been wanting to read Nesbø’s work for a while, and am just now getting around to it, so yeah, I can believe it. If you read any of his stuff, it would be interesting to see what you think.

His other series was pretty dar, so it will be interesting to see how he handles a “lighter” style of thriller. I’m hoping to start the Jack Daniels series maybe next month. I’m so excited about getting the braces off. I hope it’s in the next month or so.
