I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Last week flew by! I began the week Sunday having lunch with some friends at The Stinking Rose. It’s a popular local restaurant where everything is cooked with heaps of garlic. Even the ice cream. I’ve wanted to go for a long time, but never had the chance, so of course I jumped at it when I saw some friends were going. It was great! We laughed, talked, and ate for four hours. I ended the week hanging out on Saturday. I began with brunch, a trip to the California African American Museum, and a special book club meeting where I got the opportunity to meet author Pamela Samuels Young. It was great learning how she became a writer, and what her process is. I also won the first book in the series that we read back in November, and got it signed.

The Stinking Rose sounds like a fun place except for garlic in my ice cream, that is so gross. My uncle use to put garlic powder on his ice cream and made me try it…blah…nasty….lol. Other than that I like garlic in a lot of things but just not my IC. 🙂 That is cool that an author came to your book club meeting, hope you enjoy her novel! 🙂
Have a great week and happy reading!

If you ever get the chance to go there, you should. Even if you skip the garlic ice cream. It’s quite an experience.
Oh I love garlic anything…and would be in heaven at the Stinking Rose! So glad you had a great time.

It was lovely. I definitely want to visit again.
Ummm…garlic ice cream?!? I can’t say I can imagine that very easily…or that I’d be brave enough to try it!
Honestly, I don’t think I had the garlic ice cream. If I did, I didn’t taste any garlic.
