I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer, that was inspired in part by In My Mailbox. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This past week went by a little faster than the week before, but I think that’s because I had more energy. I don’t get as many headaches as I did my first 5 days without coffee, and can stay up (sometimes) to my normal bedtime. When I don’t, I attribute it to how much energy it takes to wrangle the Gremlins* (aka my students). Spring is fast approaching, and they seem to have more energy than usual. I think it’s because we only have 3 more months of school left this year, and they’re excited for culmination.

Not much went down this week. I only read one book, as I’m trying to catch up on my grading. Wednesday I was in an all-day meeting, and the Gremlins mistreated the substitute teacher. So of course I read them the riot act on Thursday. That was pretty much my only excitement during the week. However, yesterday was my book club meeting, which is always a hoot. Afterwards some of us went out to eat, and had a good time.

*Gremlins is something I say with affection.

Not much as you can see 🙁 2017 has not started off with a bang book wise. I hope to get out of this slump so I can post more.

  1. You’re doing very well to stay off coffee. I really need to try to ditch diet coke again as it’s a terrible habit. But it’s almost like I need a distraction when I’m doing it so I don’t get too obsessed.

I’m glad you’re feeling more energetic though!

And three months until break – something to look forward to!

  2. LOL about gremlins… I feel sorry for substitute teachers sometimes, I think they have a rough go of it most of the time. 🙂 Glad to hear Crooked Kingdom was good- I just won it in a giveaway so looks like I’ll be reading those at some point.

The Gremlins behaved better this Monday when I took off, so they earned back some of their books in the class library. I pulled all the good stuff as their punishment. LOL, No Hunger Games for you! I hope you enjoy the Six of Crows series. It really is pretty awesome.
