I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This has been a hard week back to work. Getting up early after three weeks off was difficult enough, but then I’ve had a migraine that won’t quit. Despite popping Tylenol like Tic Tacs, this pain just won’t go away. I don’t get them as often as I used to, but when I do they are pervasive. Since I’ve been dying, I haven’t read, gamed, or done really much. I’m hoping by the time I head back to work Tuesday that the streak of pain running through my head will have moved on. Despite the pain, I still tried to spend time with friends, and get out of the house more. Overall, the week was pretty good.

What I’m Watching

I’ve been on a Law & Order: SVU binge since New Years. I’m now halfway through season 3. I love this show! I can’t believe it’s been so long since I watched it regularly. I just know it’s been long enough that I’ve forgotten the last season I’ve seen. While many are familiar, some of these I’ve completely forgotten, so it’s like catching up with an old friend.

I’ve also been finishing up Ripper Street. I used to watch it on BBC America, but I never saw that last three seasons. This show is such a great period detective drama, and if you’ve never seen it, I suggest you check it out. I’m currently watching it on Netflix, but I believe it’s also on Prime.

The last show I’ve been watching (or re-watching) is Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. This show was such a good show, but sadly got cancelled due to low ratings and an expensive production cost. Too bad! Especially since the acting, action sequences, and plot is really great. I guess that’s what you get from a show starring Lena Headey, Thomas Dekker, and Summer Glau. While Headey gets a lot of shine from her years playing on Game of Thrones, it’s good to watch her shine as another bad-ass character.

  1. Oh no- hope the migraine passes/ you are feeling better. And it is tough going back to work after a nice long break. Ugh- the worst.

I loved the Sarah Connor Chronicles and totally miss that show!

Thanks, the migraine finally went away! The Sarah Connor Chronicles was definitely slept on. One of my many favorites canceled too soon.

  2. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a migraine that won’t go away! Those completely suck! Excedrin works better than Tylenol for me. I hope you find something that works for you.

I was bummed when The Sarah Connor Chronicles was canceled! It was a great show, IMO.

Thank you! I’m finally migraine free! Aww… another T:TSCC fan! It kills me when networks cancel great shows. Especially since I don’t feel Fox promoted it as much as they should have. What a waste!
