THE WEEK IN REVIEW: “Adulting” (JANUARY 19TH – JANUARY 25TH)

Posted January 26, 2020 by @Angelized_1st in Memes, The Sunday Post / 10 Comments

I decided that I would do a weekly recap, and link up with The Sunday Post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This week was easier for me than last week. Gone were the migraines that plagued me daily, and I found it easier to wake up for work in the morning. While work seemed less stressful, I had busy evenings. Unless you take into consideration the fact that I accidentally drove into the underground parking gate at work, and ripped off my front license plate and mount. Doh!

On Tuesday, I went to the laundromat. Our washer broke right before Thanksgiving. We’re in the process of trying to replace it, but decisions need to be made. Do we remove the old washbasin from the room so we can place the new washer next to the old, or do we just get another vertical washer/dryer combo despite our dryer working?

Wednesday after work I went to Lenscrafters for my annual eye exam, which I haven’t had since 2017. I wanted to see if my vision could be causing my migraines. Nope! Turns out my far vision is still pretty great. Sadly, as I approach 42 this year, I need reading/computer glasses to reduce my eyestrain. I can definitely tell the difference!

On Friday, I had a math professional development with my grade-level team. It was actually nice not being at school, though I usually prefer to be with my kids than in meetings. They catered breakfast and lunch, and I learned a lot. The day actually passed by super-fast.

Saturday I woke up at 5:30 AM, so I’d be awake enough to get to the dealership when they opened. After I picked up my new glasses Thursday, I ran by the dealership to see if they’d re-attach my license plate and mount, but they were too busy. I got there by 7:15 AM, and it was done quickly. Luckily, they didn’t charge me, but I tipped the mechanic. Afterwards, I cleaned the house, and graded papers. Overall, it was a pretty good week!

what i’m watching

This week I finished season 2 of The Strain. I also began season 4 of Law & Order: SVU, and season 1 of You. L&O is so addicting, and You hooked me immediately. However, it’s so intense that I’ve only seen the first few episodes. Mostly because I have to pay attention to it, or I may miss something important, and I’m rarely just watching t.v.

On Monday, Prodigal Son returned. I was so excited, because the fall finale was amazing! I never thought I’d enjoy this show as much as I am, because I thought it was a Hannibal wannabe, but it’s actually pretty good. It has many great actors, and just when I think I’ve figured out what’s going to happen I’m proven wrong. Definitely check it out if you haven’t!

Thanks! It’s been such a pain using the laundromat. Prodigal Son is pretty good. I’ve been enjoying it so far.

  1. Glad it was a good week, other than the car thing. And good luck with the washer issues. That kind of stuff is never fun. I had a dishwasher go out and instead of simply replacing it I found all kinds of issues with pipes and now I have to have a plumber come in and it’ll cost a fortune probably. *sigh*

I still need to finish the first season of You.

Isn’t that how it always is? If it’s not one thing, it’s another! I hope your plumbing issues get resolved quickly and as inexpensively as possible. Good luck!

My problem with You, is that I can’t watch it while doing other things, and I’m rarely just watching tv.

Yay, I’m not alone with the eye gear! LOL! So far, so good on the headache front. *fingers crossed* Have a great week!

  2. I’m glad to read your migraines are gone. I have headaches a lot, and they really suck. I can’t imagine how bad migraines are.
What a beautiful picture.. the glasses look good on you. 😉
Have a great week and happy reading.

Sorry to hear you also suffer from headaches. Mine have gone, for now, and it’s been wonderful! Thanks you! I’m getting used to the glasses. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
